What I use for a design program.

For many digital designers out there Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop are the standard of choice for those in the industry. For me Paint Shop Pro 9 is my design program of choice. Why do I go with Paint Shop Pro?Surprisingly it isn't for photo editing as most in the industry know it. I like to use it because it is still easier to use and understand in making web graphics. I have tried a few programs out there and I still come back to this.

This program is just so versatile you can make textures to apply to 2D and 3D graphics and animations. Wanting to make a web banner or button, however you don't want to spend hours looking for one that fits your needs this program allows you to do your own banners and buttons saving you time and money. I used to be that way spending hours looking for stuff and then wandering if it was safe to use, what the TOU OR TOS was for what I wanted and then trying to get in touch with the designer to get permission to use their stuff if either of the latter isn't on their site.

Out of the box this program offers many free to use no credit needed elements. With everything from 3D effects, to User Defined Filters, to Textures this can get you started and get you comfortable with the basics.

There are alot of classes out on the web that offer training as well as forums where you can ask questions and participate in challenges to boost your skills and your creativity.
